Beating boredom with a stopwatch

The Origin

A childhood game brought to mobile

Growing up, we played 'stopwatch baseball' on our Casio watches during boring car rides. Start the timer, try to stop it at exactly one second. The closer you got, the better your hit. We'd play entire imaginary games.

Decades later, I realized no one had turned this into an actual app. The game exists in a weird space - too simple to need a download, but too fun to abandon. I wanted to capture that road trip nostalgia in a polished mobile experience.

The best games are the ones with one simple rule that creates infinite complexity.

Stopwatch Baseball digitizes that childhood game. Same core mechanic, but with proper baseball rules, a CPU opponent that plays by realistic odds, and visual flourishes that make each at-bat feel meaningful.

Overview

Timing-Based Baseball Game

A unique mobile game where players compete against a CPU in 9-inning baseball by timing stopwatch presses as close as possible to exactly 1 second.

Precision Mechanics

What's Next

From solo game to social competition

The single-player experience works. But the real fun is competing against friends.

Multiplayer Mode

Real-time head-to-head matches. Both players batting, both players timing. True skill competition.

Season Mode

Play a 162-game season against the CPU, tracking stats and pushing for the playoffs.

Difficulty Levels

Adjust the timing window for different skill levels. Make it accessible for kids, punishing for purists.

There's something pure about a game with no IAP, no ads, no manipulation - just skill and timing. That simplicity is the core appeal.
